Sang-Il Kim is a medical doctor and computer scientist working in health IT for over 20 years. He had a focus on medical IT interoperability standards and national electronic health records. His experiences in MedTech and med-IT industry and governmental bodies are basis for being a lecturer at the Berne University of Applied Sciences in medical informatics. He was involved in defining the swiss national patient record and later developing and implementing this. His current research topics are 'care at home', telemedicine, 'digital health literacy' and 'usage of AI in healthcare'. He is deeply convinced that intersectoral and interprofessional work must be promoted and established for better healthcare outcome. Also the involvement of the patients and caregivers shall be used to utilize the great potential in it. He thinks: AI, wisely used, can help in various care settings.
